Patrick 2 Months old!

2 months old! I mean seriously I just gave birth yesterday, didn't I? Patrick is such a good baby. He is smiling a lot and cooing! He looks a lot like David. He had his Dr. appt. today, which means immunization time. Of course I made Justin go, cuz mama cries when her babies get shots! He is weighing in at 13lbs 8oz . So blessed to have a healthy baby! Happy 2 months Patrick!

Awana

David is in Awana on Wednesday nights. It's like a bible study class that is all school year. He has to learn and memorize verses from the bible and be tested on them at class. When he started he was enrolled a week late so we really had to focus and catch up with the class. He seems to really enjoy it. It's good for me too, it helps me study up on the bible as well! Last Wed. he had a badge ceremony for memorizing 4 verses! He already has earned a bag and vest! I am really proud at how well he is doing!

Patrick's Surgery

Patrick had his surgery on Thursday at 12:30. When we got to pre-op, Patrick was sleeping well. We had an hour until surgery and I was hoping he would cont. sleeping until the surgeon arrived. Well, it didn't last! We had to put him in a gown that looked like a dress that hit him at his knees. Then it was off to weigh him, get is temp., sat check and bp. My chunky monkey is 12lbs 8oz. After everything checked out fine, it was the waiting game. Patrick was not happy and we had thirty more min. until the Dr. arrived. We used a Binky to try to keep him settled, but he wasn't fooled. Once the Dr. arrived, Patrick was whisked away to the OR. With tears in my eyes,I gave him a kissed and to the waiting room I sat to worry! I tried to keep my mind occupied by texting and thumbing through a magazine. Next thing I know the Dr. was in the waiting room. The surgery was done and all had gone well! He recovered very quickly and was ready to eat soon after he awoke. He was pretty sleepy the rest of the afternoon, but during the night, he was wide awake and ready to stay awake. Glad the surgery is over and glad he is home with me!

Surgery Date!

We saw the surgeon today for Patrick's surgery. He was very pleseant, but I think I embarrassed him. When he walked into the room I was breastfeeding Patrick. I was totally covered up, but I think it caught him off guard. I was kind of stubbling over his words and asked if we wanted him to come back. Um no! I don't want to wait any longer to have him seen! When he was assessing his hernia he thought it was impressive! I don't know what this means. I assume that this might be the largest inguinal hernia he's seen! They are doing the surgery endoscopically and will check the other side while they are in there to make sure it doesn't have an opening. Surgery is scheduled for next thurs. 24th at CMS! Say your prays that everything will go smoothly!

Old Settlers!

Every year our city celebrates Old Settlers Days, which includes a parade and a carnival. Saturday, David and I walked in the parade with his gymnastics club. Handing out balloons and waving to the crowd, while the older kids did tumbling in the street. Afterwards we headed to the carnival for some fun! David and Jake had a great time riding the kids rides. Even Justin and I got in on the actions! I will load pics as soon as I get them from my dad!

weigh in!

Last week Patrick had is one month check up. He weighed in at 11lbs! My little man is really starting to fill out! All went well and and checked out fine.

On Sunday when I was changing his diaper I noticed a bulge in his pubic area, above his left testy. After further inspection, I discovered he has an inguinal hernia that is easily reduced. Since it was the holiday weekend I had to wait until today to call and get him in to be seen. Surgery is a must! I am waiting now for a general surgeon to see him for a surgery date at Childrens! I know this type of surgery is minor, but I just don't want my baby to have to have SURGERY! I really don't want to go to Children's Mercy. The thought of having to walk into that hospital after losing Kolbey, gives me such anxiety!

My friend Benjy

In David's preschool, the kids each get a chance to take home a stuff dog named Benjy overnight. They are to return them the next day in class and write about what they did while they had him. Last week was David's turn to have Benjy. Since he got Benjy on Thursday, we got him for the whole weekend. He took the dog everywhere we went. He even buckled him in a booster seat when we drove in the car! David really enjoyed taking him and home. I think he felt really special to be chosen!

Oma and Patrick!

I was finally able to visit mom and have her see her newest grand baby! I'm not sure how aware she was of Patrick, but she was able to hold him. He was pretty hungry when we arrived so he started to draw the other residents into mom's room to see what the commotion was all about!
